Scholarships: If you would like to request a partial scholarship for your child, you must fill out the Enrollment Form and include at least half of the tuition.
Important Note: Monroe PTA is in no way affiliated with the After School Enrichment Program at Monroe which means that after school enrichment activities are not covered by PTA insurance. The Program is coordinated as a courtesy to Monroe families by volunteer parents who are in no way responsible for the classes that you may sign your child up for. All class descriptions are provided by the instructors and reproduced in good faith by the volunteer coordinators. After school enrichment teachers are required by the school district to carry their own insurance and submit to a background check but neither the PTA nor the volunteer coordinators are responsible for ensuring that these individuals have met these requirements. If you have any questions regarding a class, it should be directed to the instructor of the class.
Boys and Girls Club
The Boys & Girls Club of Santa Barbara, Inc. has been changing lives for over 72 years.Since 1938 when the first local Club was opened, we have provided young people with hope and opportunity, a safe place to learn and grow, ongoing relationships with caring, adult professionals and life-enhancing programs and character development experiences.Located in the downtown region of Santa Barbara, the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Barbara fulfills an unquestionable need: keeping local children off the street, out of trouble, and in a positive learning environment.
Today, the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Barbara serves over 1,200 local youth and their families.
Our Club is staffed by paid, trained youth development professionals who, through a system of informal guidance, form strong bonds with young people and help them make smart choices in life. For many Club members, Club staff are the most influential positive adult role model in their lives.

Girls Inc.
Located at 531 East Ortega Street, our Santa Barbara Center has inspired thousands of girls to be strong, smart & bold since opening its doors in 1958. Girls from kindergarten to 18 years of age participate in the after school and all day summer programs in an all girl environment. The after school program hours are from school dismissal to 6:00 pm (They provide transportation from schools in the Santa Barbara School District to the center). Girls Inc. is licensed by the State of California, Community Care Licensing and meet or exceed these standards.
Kids Care
On-Site School-Age Program for Kindergarten through grade 3
Monroe offers one on-site after-school school-age program for students in kindergarten through third grades. The School-Age Program through the Santa Barbara Unified School District's Child Development and After School Program is located in room #21. The program provides after school and holiday care from dismissal to 6:00 PM. The major focus of our school-age program is to provide a safe, enriching and educational environment that supplements and supports the regular school day program. The daily routine includes homework assistance, enrichment projects, outdoor organized and free choice activities, and indoor large and small groups. A nutritious snack is served daily. An academic program is included with special enrichment themes. Field trips and on site specialists in music, art and physical education are also added to enhance the curriculum. During the summer, winter and spring breaks our programs are open full day. Applications are available at the Child Development Business Office located at 721 East Cota Street (Santa Barbara Junior High Parking lot Bungalow).

RAP Program
Recreation Afterschool Program (RAP)
RAP is a safe, supervised and fun recreational experience for children in first through sixth grades at Adams, Monroe, Roosevelt and Washington Elementary Schools. Registration is currently underway and is on-going throughout the school year. RAP's highly trained team brings energy, enthusiasm, skill and commitment to making sure that your child comes home each and every day with a big smile across their face. RAP employees have completed a criminal background check, are currently certified in CPR/First aid and are trained in supervising children and program planning. Daily activities include arts and crafts, sports and recreation, homework help and reading time. Program schedules change from day to day and vary, depending upon the site.
