Fine Arts

The fine arts experience at Monroe Elementary School is where every student’s creativity is celebrated and nurtured! Our Visual Arts Program, guided by California’s Visual Art Standards, offers students weekly art classes taught by a passionate and highly qualified teaching artist who inspires and supports each child’s artistic growth.

At Monroe, art is not limited to the classroom, students are invited to drop into the art room during recess for additional enrichment and creative exploration. We also provide extra art classes tailored to students with extensive needs, ensuring that all learners have opportunities to express themselves and develop their talents.

Our program thrives on the enthusiastic support of parents, staff, and the community, and is enriched by ongoing professional development for our teaching artist. Each spring, the entire school community comes together to celebrate student achievement at the Monroe School Art Show, where every child’s unique artwork is proudly displayed.
